LGBTQ+ Protections

Every person in Cook County deserves to live freely, openly, and without fear, regardless of who they are or who they love. As a candidate for Cook County Board President, I fully support equal rights and protections for LGBTQ+ individuals as a core part of my belief in individual liberty and limited government.

The government’s job is to protect your rights, not to police your identity, your relationships, or your personal choices.

Freedom Means Equality for All

You cannot call yourself a defender of freedom while turning a blind eye to discrimination. LGBTQ+ residents deserve:

  • Equal access to housing, employment, education, and public services

  • Protection from harassment and hate crimes

  • The freedom to live authentically without interference from government or ideology

I oppose any effort, local or otherwise, to:

  • Roll back protections based on gender identity or sexual orientation

  • Use religion or politics as a cover for legalized discrimination

  • Censor LGBTQ+ voices in schools, healthcare, or community life

Limited Government Means Staying Out of Your Life

A truly limited government does not tell people how to dress, whom to love, or what their family should look like. I oppose authoritarian attempts to control people’s identities, deny medical care to trans individuals, or restrict LGBTQ+ content under the guise of “morality laws.”

As Cook County Board President, I will:

  • Uphold all nondiscrimination laws and push for stronger enforcement where gaps exist

  • Ensure county services are inclusive and accessible to LGBTQ+ residents

  • Work with community organizations to support youth, seniors, and vulnerable LGBTQ+ individuals

  • Block any attempt to use county policy or law enforcement to marginalize or target LGBTQ+ communities

A Government That Respects Every Resident

LGBTQ+ people are our neighbors, family members, coworkers, and friends. They pay taxes, raise children, serve their communities, and deserve a government that protects their freedoms, not one that threatens them.

I am not here to divide people into groups or pass judgment on them. I’m here to defend your right to be who you are, live how you choose, and pursue happiness on your own terms.

If you believe in a Cook County that values freedom, dignity, and equality for all, then I’m with you.
