The West Side of Chicago has been overlooked for too long.
We see it every day: boarded-up homes, empty lots, closed storefronts, and fewer opportunities than there should be. This isn’t normal, and it doesn’t have to stay this way.
What’s Happening on the West Side
Across neighborhoods on the West Side, the same problems continue:
- Vacant buildings and empty storefronts
- Lack of investment and development
- Fewer local businesses opening or staying open
- Limited access to jobs and services
These aren’t new issues. They’ve been around for years, and too often they’ve been ignored.
The Impact on Our Communities
When neighborhoods are left behind, it affects everything:
- Property values decline
- Families move away
- Small businesses struggle to survive
- Communities lose momentum
This creates a cycle that becomes harder and harder to break.
We Need to Support Growth on the West Side
The solution isn’t complicated, but it does require a change in priorities.
We need to:
- Encourage small business growth
- Make it easier to invest in neighborhoods
- Reduce unnecessary barriers and delays
- Focus resources where they are needed most
The West Side doesn’t need more talk; it needs action.
This Is About Opportunity
Every neighborhood in Cook County deserves the chance to grow and succeed.
The West Side has the people, the history, and the potential. It needs leadership focused on results, not on maintaining the status quo.
Time for a New Direction
For too long, the same leadership has overseen the same outcomes.
After years of seeing little change, it’s time to take a different approach, one that prioritizes growth, opportunity, and investment in the communities that need it most.
Let’s Move Forward Together
I’m running for Cook County Board President because I believe the West Side deserves better.
We can build stronger neighborhoods, support local businesses, and create real opportunity, but only if we’re willing to do things differently.
